Cosmopolitan Las Vegas
Brief
The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas was such a cool opportunity to make fun work. With its unique digital architecture in the lobby area composed of over 500 screens, the brief was really open ended. Digital Kitchen had previously made high-end content for said screens and was asked to make a content refresh.
Solution
Playing with reflections and optical illusions, this concept is about challenging logic and captivating the audience. Inspired by fashion and dance photography, flowing fabric, performance art and mirror images, I wanted to make something that was dreamy, felt fresh and was on-brand for the hotel’s clientele. The result is a stunning choregraphed dance of some sort that when reflected transforms the entire facade into an immersive display.
As Associate Creative Director, I:
*Researched and sourced imagery that spoke to both the curious clientele of the Cosmpolitan Las Vegas, as well as to the digital nature of their lobby display.
*Created moodboards and designed mocks that visually established my concept.
*Designed several styleframes exploring possible body movements, frame compositions, image mirroring, etc that were later used as a blueprint during production.
*Maximized the dynamic possibilities of a mirror covered floor and celing combo that surrounded the video columns by proposing something that was enhanced by its environment but didn’t depend on it to succeed.
